OBPB Certifies New Board and Officers for 2014-2015 Term

At its April meeting, the Ocean Beach Planning Board certified its election results, appointed new members, and elected officers for the 2014-2015 term.

The March 2014 election results were certified as follows:

  • District 2: Drew Wilson
  • District 3: Peter Ruscitti
  • District 6: John Ambert

With vacancies in several districts, the Board also appointed two members:

  • District 4: Seth Connolly
  • District 5: Jane Gawronski

Finally, the Board elected its officers for the 2014-2015 term:

  • Chair: Peter Ruscitti
  • Vice Chair: John Ambert
  • Secretary: Scott Therkalsen
  • Treasurer: Drew Wilson

Tentative Hearing Dates for OB Community Plan

The updated Ocean Beach Community Plan is undergoing revisions by city staff and is scheduled to be considered on the following dates:

  • Thursday, April 24 (1 pm): Historic Resources Board (agendas)
  • Wednesday, April 30 (2 pm): Smart Growth and Land Use Committee (agendas)
  • Thursday, May 15 (9 am): Planning Commission (agendas)
  • Tuesday, June 24 (time TBD): City Council (agendas)

Because revisions are still in progress, these dates are tentative and will not be confirmed until the agendas are published. Be sure to check the agendas using the links above a few days before the scheduled meeting.

OB Planning Board 2014 Election Ballot Available

The ballot for the 2014 elections of the Ocean Beach Planning Board has been published and is available in sample form:

Interested candidates are still welcome to run on a write-in basis provided they meet all eligibility requirements. See oceanbeachplanning.org/elections for full details.

As a reminder, election day is Tuesday, March 11, 2014. Polls will be open 4-7 p.m. at the Ocean Beach Recreation Center at 4726 Santa Monica Avenue. Mail-in ballots are available upon request for voters who register in advance.

Get Out the Vote! OBPB Elections Tue Mar 11

The Ocean Beach Planning Board will hold elections for the 2014-2015 term on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. Polls will be open 4-7 p.m. at the Ocean Beach Recreation Center at 4726 Santa Monica Avenue. Mail-in ballots are available upon request for voters who register in advance.

Seats for seven of the Board’s 14 positions will be up for election, one from each of the seven districts in the OB Community Plan Area. If elected, members serve a two-year term of office.
