2025 OB Planning Board election is now open

Registration and voting is taking place now through March 4th, 2025.
Four (4) of our 12 seats are up for election this year. Board members are elected to 3-year terms. Board members are volunteers and receive no compensation. View candidate statements here.

Voting in the 2025 election

You are eligible to vote if you are at least 18 years of age and reside, own property, or own/operate a business within the Ocean Beach Planning Area (see map below). It is NOT necessary to be a registered voter with the state or county government.

All voters must complete a registration form and a ballot. This includes providing a photo identification and proof of a valid Ocean Beach address. There are 4 options for registration and voting:

  • ONLINE: register online and receive an online ballot via email. Online registration and voting will open on February 25th and close Tuesday, March 4th at midnight.
  • IN PERSON: download and print a registration form and ballot and bring it to the March 4th OBPB meeting location between 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Meeting is located at Ocean Beach Recreation Center at the end of the hallway to the left. The address is 4726 Santa Monica Ave, San Diego, CA.
  • BALLOT DROP BOX: download and print a registration form and ballot and drop it off at the Ocean Beach Business Center located at: 4967 Newport Ave, Suite 12, San Diego, CA.
    The drop box is available during business hours between February 25 and March 4th.
  • MAIL: Print and mail your completed registration form and ballot to: OB Planning Board, 4967 Newport Avenue #133, San Diego, CA 92107. It must be received by March 4th.
