Bylaws

The Ocean Beach Planning Board Bylaws contain the operating procedures, roles, and responsibilities of the Board and its members. Last updated by the Board and approved by the City Council in 2015.

Other Policies Governing the Operations of the OB Planning Board

  • San Diego City Council Policy 600-24: Defines the relationship between the City of San Diego and its community planning groups such as the Ocean Beach Planning Board. Updated by the City Council in 2014.
  • Ralph M. Brown Act: Originally passed in 1953 and amended multiple times since then, the Brown Act is California’s “open meetings” law that safeguards public participation in government meetings. The City of San Diego has also published some user-friendly guidelines on the application of the Brown Act to community planning groups such as the Ocean Beach Planning Board.
